“The standouts were Nathan David Smith as Dwight...”
Hi, I’m Nathan, and I’m a storyteller.
I was born and raised in the “Jewel of the Prairie” — Grinnell, Iowa. It was at Drake University & The National Musical Theatre Institute where I honed my craft and developed a love for storytelling. I strive to find the greater truths of humanity through story. Theatre, for me, is a way for humans to connect, empathize, and have a greater understanding of what it means to exist. My goal is to help aid in the creation of this experience. Either through acting, singing, writing, or producing, I aim to peel back the layers of our collective experience, and make the world a better place.
When not trying to tackle the near impossible task of “making the world a better place” — I can be found playing too many video games, drinking too much coffee, and daydreaming endlessly about owning a dachshund in NYC.

“The purpose of a storyteller is not to tell you how to think, but to give you questions to think upon.” - Brandon Sanderson
“Smith steals the show. He displays his chops and triple-threat versatility right off the bat in Great Big Stuff. Smith is a force of nature, tearing up the stage with manic antics and showcasing his exceptional comedic timing and versatile singing abilities. Unleashed but amazingly endearing!”
“Johnny Shea, Zummy Mohammed and especially Nathan David Smith lead the way with incredible voices that often gave me chills.
